Aiyuk may be the 49ers’ best offensive weapon. Mccaffrey may be. Or kittle might be. Or samuel might be. The 49ers have the best arsenal of offensive weapons in the nfl. Which weapon is the most potent? Deebo samuel has been their best weapon in the last two games, gaining 232 yards from scrimmage and scoring 4 touchdowns in the process.
Samuel has the ability to take over games alone on this team, unlike any other player, since he can catch a two-yard pass and convert it into a 50-yard touchdown. Given his versatility, george kittle is the 49ers’ most versatile weapon, as an elite receiver and an elite blocker, which is a very unusual pairing. Any team would love to have a tight end like him. Kyle juszczyk is the 49ers’ fullback. Christian mccaffrey is the 49ers’ most prolific receiver because he’s their starting running back and leads the league in rushing yards, and overall touchdowns. He could be named offensive player of the year because he’s perfect for what the 49ers want to do on offense, run and throw short passes.
Mccaffrey is an excellent runner and receiver, so much of the offense goes through him as it should. Brandon aiyuk is the 49ers’ most underused weapon. And that’s because they weren’t designed to get him the ball.
He’s a downfield threat, and the 49ers don’t have a great offensive line. They don’t give their quarterback enough time to throw down the field.
Yet, aiyuk stil averages 18.5 yards per catch this season. The easiest way to lose to the 49ers is to let brandon aiyuk have a big game because he catches the ball so far down field and then gains yards after the catch.
