Could Manchester City keep quiet in the January transfer window? With the transfer window opening in less than two weeks, the three-time winners will be linked with a number of players.
But a recent report from The Athletic’s David Ornstein suggests it could be a quiet month for City. The European champions have been linked with several players ahead of the January transfer window. With Kalvin Phillips set to leave the club in January, it looks like Pep Guardiola’s side could hold out for the midfielder, according to Samuel Meade of the Mirror. That said, if you dig deeper into the Manchester City squad, there seems to be depth in the ranks. When Kevin De Bruyne returns in the coming weeks, he will give City an extra boost.
They are also hoping for a better run on the injury front. De Bruyne, Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, John Stones, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland are out with injuries at this stage of the season. If the treble winners have a better run with injury in the second half of the season, reinforcements may not be needed in January.
