When the Boston Celtics return to the court on Saturday night, intrigue will swirl about how their offense will follow up one of the most historic performances in team history, a 155-point night.

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Nets are hoping their defense can make enough plays to keep the undefeated Celtics from running a big offense. The Celtics are 4-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 season with six straight wins and have increased their scoring in each game. After defeating the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Washington Wizards, the Celtics opened the scoring with a 155-104 home victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. It was the 10th time the Celtics scored at least 150 points and the first time since Nov. 25, 1992 against Washington. The performance raised Boston’s average to 127 points per contest.

The Celtics shot 76.2 percent (16-of-21) in the opening quarter, hitting eight of 10 three-pointers. They had 75 points at halftime for the second straight contest.

The Nets return home to play 11 of their next 14 games. They just completed a four-game road trip, winning their last three contests against the Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls.
Brooklyn won 109-105 at Miami on Wednesday and 109-107 at Chicago on Friday, the fourth game was decided by five points or less. It was also Brooklyn and first game in the NBA East Division C and the off season, which resumes on November 10 with a visit to Boston.
