Jett Lawrence Reveals Honda CRF450RWE Was Key in Renewing His World SuperMotocross Title
Jett Lawrence, one of the brightest young stars in motocross, has credited the Honda CRF450RWE as a pivotal factor in his successful defense of the World SuperMotocross title. The 20-year-old Australian rider, who dominated the 2024 season, revealed that the performance and versatility of Honda’s flagship motocross bike played a major role in his championship campaign.
After securing back-to-back titles in the highly competitive SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX), Lawrence spoke openly about how the Honda CRF450RWE gave him the edge on the track. “The CRF450RWE is an absolute beast. It’s incredibly powerful but also handles with so much precision, which was crucial for me this season. I owe a lot of my success to this bike,” Lawrence said.
The “Works Edition” (RWE) version of the Honda CRF450R features several upgrades from the standard model, including an enhanced engine, lightweight components, and refined suspension systems. These enhancements, according to Lawrence, allowed him to maintain peak performance in both Supercross and Motocross events throughout the season.
“This bike is designed for winning. The way it responds to the rider’s input is next level, and the power delivery is smooth but aggressive when you need it. In tight situations or when the track conditions change, having that kind of control made all the difference,” Lawrence explained.
Lawrence’s ability to dominate on a wide range of tracks, from the technical indoor Supercross circuits to the rugged outdoor Motocross tracks, showcased both his riding talent and the versatility of the Honda CRF450RWE. “Whether it was deep ruts, sand, or hardpack, the CRF450RWE handled everything I threw at it. It gave me the confidence to push harder and go for wins in situations where I might have held back in the past.”
The 2024 season was marked by intense competition, but Lawrence’s consistency and ability to adapt to varying conditions were key factors in his title defense. He credited Honda’s engineering team for continually fine-tuning the bike to suit his needs. “The team at Honda was amazing. Every time we made adjustments, it just got better and better. We had the right setup for every race, and that’s what kept me at the top.”
As Lawrence continues to cement his legacy in motocross, he remains humble about the tools that have helped him along the way. “Racing is about the rider, but it’s also about having the best equipment. The CRF450RWE has been a game-changer for me, and I’m excited to see how far we can go together in the future.”
With another World SuperMotocross title under his belt, Jett Lawrence is already looking ahead to the challenges of the 2025 season. Riding high on the confidence that his Honda CRF450RWE gives him, Lawrence is poised to remain a dominant force in the sport for years to come.
