Arsenal were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham last night as Mikel Arteta’s side now turn their attention back to Premier League action this weekend
Arsenal were dumped out of the Carabao Cup after suffering a 3-1 defeat against West Ham at the London Stadium. The Gunners found themselves behind inside 16 minutes as Ben White turned a corner kick into his own net – despite Aaron Ramsdale clearly being fouled by Tomas Soucek.
Given there is no VAR in the Carabao Cup, the goal was allowed to stand. A slow start to the second half saw the Hammers take a 3-0 lead following goals from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen.
Martin Odegaard was introduced as a substitute and the Arsenal captain scored a late consolation goal – but it was not enough as Arsenal crashed out of the Carabao Cup. Following their defeat to West Ham, football.london takes a look at the Gunners’ next five fixtures in all competitions…
