Liverpool hero Mo Salah has backed Al-Ittihad to turn him down after leaving Liverpool because another club could sign him in a huge summer deal.Salah was the target of a huge £150m bid from Al-Ittihad last summer as Saudi Arabia’s Pro League officials sought him out as the poster boy for their competition. However, the offer was immediately rejected by Liverpool and talk of a second bid worth a staggering £215m never materialised.
The right side therefore remained at Anfield and was again in excellent form. His record in all competitions is 18 goals and nine assists in 27 games. However, there is now a good chance that Salah will end his spell at Liverpool at the end of the season. This is because manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to quit as he is running out of steam and needs at least a year to recharge. Al-Ittihad are happy Klopp is leaving Liverpool as it increases their chances of finally landing Salah.
However, Saudi rivals Al-Hilal pulled out all the stops by signing the Egyptian star first, as they are far more successful in the Saudi top flight. If Salah were to move to Al-Hilal instead of Al-Ittihad, he would form an unstoppable attacking partnership with Brazilian icon Neymar and former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic..
