The los angeles chargers are recruiting navorro bowman, a former 49ers all-pro, as their next linebacker coach. Jim harbaugh, the chargers’ head coach, may be reuniting with a familiar coach he coached in san francisco to join his staff. The deal hasn’t been reached yet, but both sides are likely to shake hands soon. Bowman spent the last season as a defensive analyst at the university of maryland.
In 89 career games played, he was a third-round pick for san francisco in 2010. he recorded 671 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and nine forced fumbles. Bowman was a four-time all-pro and had three pro bowls. Harbaugh seems to be able to bring all of the pieces of the puzzle together. He adds jesse minter as the defensive coordinator from his old university, which he coached. After four playing seasons under harbaugh, most recently during a super bowl run in 2012, he’s now adding bowman to his staff. Bowman recorded nine combined tackles, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits in the super bowl.
His playing days are over, and he’s ready to tackle a new challenge under his leadership. Bowman was released by san francisco in 2017, but he continued to play with the raiders.
